My friend, the late Charles Biggs was one of my favorite columnists. Not long before he passed away he wrote one of my favorites, which I wanted to share today… Someone sent me a copy of a letter to the editor written by Ken Huber of Tawas City, Michigan.

Like every other means of written communication (and some unwritten), the church bulletin can be taken out of context. A nurse friend of mine collected these goodies and shared them.

We have said before and will say again that former Mayor Massad is one of the most outstanding mayors I have ever known, and I have known each of them since the 1950’s. And the recent audit report proves his success.

My mother often claimed that I started walking AND talking at 7 months and hav- slowed down with either undertaking since. I had to double up on my talking (not a problem) during a recent battle I lost with the concrete on my front porch that resulted in surgery and a left hip replacement.

Dayna and I spent the weekend attending the annual Oklahoma Press Association. It was an enjoyable and rewarding time.

IT’S A GREAT LIFE IF YOU DON’T WEAKEN I can’t count the times I heard the expression, “It’s a great life, if you don’t weaken” from both my grandmother and my mom. It was usually proclaimed in the midst of some problem or trial when they were reaching into their reservoir or resilience to cope with whatever was presenting itself.

Twenty-seven band students from Holdenville Junior and Senior High Schools will compete with 469 other bandsmen Saturday at Oklahoma Baptist University, Shawnee, for positions in the All-District Bands.

Graduation time is here and students across the country are making decisions about their future. Many of them will start college but only half of those that start will graduate.
