Donald Ray “Coach” Farris, 92, of Canadian, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025 in Tulsa. The family will host a visitation on Thursday, January 16, at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services are set for Friday, January 17, at 2:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in McAlester, with the Rev. Dr. Jim Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Savanna Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Farris officiating there. Funeral music will be provided by the Rev. Bobby Hall.

Ruby Christene Wagoner passed away in Holdenville, Oklahoma on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at the age of 94 years. Ruby is the daughter of Jess and Neoma (Ervin) Skipworth, born on January 26, 1930, in Holdenville, Oklahoma. She was brought up in Lamar and attended Lamar schools through the eleventh grade. She was married to Alfred ‘Dub’ Wagoner on February 11, 1948, in Holdenville, and they lived their entire lives in the Lamar community. Ruby worked eighteen years at Holdenville General Hospital in housekeeping and laundry, while helping her husband work and maintain their farm. In her spare time she enjoyed crochet, embroidery, and baking. She was a member of the Lamar Pentecostal Church. She loved the Lord, her family, and her home. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Neoma Skipworth; her husband of sixty-nine years, Dub Wagoner, on September 4, 2017; two sisters, Lucille Bain and Nadine McCoy; and one brother, Jesse Skipworth. She is survived by one sister, Janice Helt of Hydro, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Funeral services were held on Monday, December 30th, 2:00pm at Lamar Pentecostal Church, and Ruby was laid to rest at Lamar Cemetery. Rev. Larry Chesser is the officiating minister. Pallbearers were Butch Skipworth, Jamie Skipworth, John Bain, and Kevin Martin.

Hamilton and remained in Byng for a short while, eventually settling in Seminole, Okla.
