Matthew Ray Sanford passed away Saturday, March 14th, 2026 at Chickasaw Nation Medical Center in Ada, Oklahoma at the age of 41.

Matthew was born June 5th, 1984 in Ada, Oklahoma to Danny Lee Sanford of Holdenville and Lela Ann Warledo of Tulsa. Matthew attended Holdenville high school. He worked in the oilfield production industry as a roughneck. He was a member of Middle Creek #2 Missionary Baptist Church. Matthew enjoyed fishing, hunting, building mini bikes, four wheelers, and cars.

Matthew is preceded in death by his daughter Ashley Sanford, brother Brandon Sanford, grandmother Jean Carpenter, grandfather Kenneth Sanford, uncle Audie Sanford and grandmother Georgia Harjo. He is survived by his father Danny Sanford and wife Shirley of Holdenville, mother Lela Warledo of Tulsa, children; Kamden Arnn of Holdenville, Aly Bryant of Sasakwa, Landon Wright of Shawnee, Brandon Sanford of Spaulding, Benjamin Cullum of Kansas, Rayden Sanford of Arkansas, sister Keiona Lena of Tulsa, brother Joseph Sanford of Utah, uncle Shawn Sanford of Holdenville, uncle William Sanford of Holdenville and aunt Misty Kirkland and husband David of Holdenville, bonus siblings; Brian

Chambers and wife Chelle, Kenny Chambers and wife Jessika and Sheri Reynolds and husband Jason. Matthew is survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are Jon Lowe, Jacob Wind, Kamden Arnn, Shawn Sanford, Pat Brown and Drew Dibler. Honorary pallbearers are Jeremiah Moppin, Chris Wahpepah, Chebon Emarthle, Zack Buck, Gary Sanford, Michael Sanford, Landon Wright and Jeremy Wright.

Viewing will be 1:00 p.m. to 5 p.m Tuesday, March 17, 2026. Wake service will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville.

At 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 18th, Matthew will be taken to Middle Creek #2 Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 18th at Middle Creek #2 Baptist Church with Pastor John Moppin officiating with Pastor Dane Robinson assisting.

Interment will follow at Middle Creek #2 Baptist Church Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville, Oklahoma.
