Body

H.B. Jones passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024, following a car accident. HB was born in Hughes County, Oklahoma, on January 5, 1928, son of Hester B. and Nannie Mae (Tiller) Jones. He grew up and lived around Calvin, Oklahoma.

HB was a World War II veteran, serving proudly in the US Navy.

HB was a farmer and an avid fisherman. He had been collecting arrowheads since he was a small child, all picked up in the woods, fields, and creek banks around Calvin, where he spent his life.

He was kind, loved his family fiercely, was proud of his independence, and he had a dry sense of humor that sometimes required you to pause before you realized he was being funny.

He was 96, lived alone, and his accident was in his beloved black Mustang. He would have wanted it that way.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Imogene (Gene) Jones Rose; and his brother, Jimmie Jones. He is survived by six nieces and nephews, Mona Orvig, Jana Powell andhusband,Sam, Regina Morris and husband, Kevin, Boyd Jones and wife, Heather, Jason Jones and wife, Ashley, and Christina Dockrey and husband Michael; he is also survived by his sister-in-law, Orvetta Jones; and great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and local friends.

Per his wishes, no services will be held.

Cremation service under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
