Our sympathy is extended to the family of Elizabeth Roberta Yahola
Elizabeth Roberta Yahola passed away Friday, March 20, 2026, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 84.
Elizabeth was born in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Johnson Larney and Katy (Chupco) Larney. Elizabeth graduated from Chilocco Indian Boarding School in Ponca City, Oklahoma. She loved arts and crafts, Bingo, cooked for friends and neighbors. Elizabeth enjoyed watching OU football, Pittsburgh Steelers and was a drum majorette for her high school. She loved her grandkids, great grandkids and loved staying active. Elizabeth always looked her best!
Elizabeth spent many years in California and spent her later years in Tahlequah, Oklahoma where she returned in 2013. It was during this time that her family was able to reconnect with her and rebuild a meaningful connection that would carry through the rest of her life.
Her relationship with her family was not without complexity, but it was rooted in understanding and grace. Her children and loved ones hold no ill will, only a shared recognition that love can take many forms. While it may be difficult to fully put into words what she means to us, the connection we have been able to share - especially in later years - will be cherished.
