Beverly Louise Sanford
Beverly Louise Sanford passed away at her home in Holdenville on Sunday, April 9, 2023, at the age of 68 years.
Beverlywasthedaughter of Lloyd E. Stone and Bonnie Lee (Stone) Stone, born on July 17, 1954, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was brought up in the Wewoka and Seminole area, and also in Fort Collins, Colorado. She graduated from Strother High School with the Class of 1972. She was married to Kenneth Sanford in Ada, Oklahoma on June 20, 1972. They lived back and forth between Holdenville and Seminole for several years before making their home for the past twentyfour years in Holdenville.
Beverly owned and operated Bev’s Barber Shop for forty-three years and retired in 2019. One of her favorite things over the years was doing free haircuts and styling for high school kids on prom night in exchange for their prom picture. She enjoyed playing games on her phone, and she loved more than anything spending time with her family. She attended Faith Free Will Baptist Church for many years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Bonnie Stone; her husband of 47 years, Kenneth Sanford, on October 15, 2019; her sister Brenda Stone, and half-sister Kathy Vandergriff; stepson Audie Sanford; granddaughter Katina Riley; grandson Brandon Sanford; and great-grandson Cub Riley.
She is survived by four children, William Sanford and Shawn Sanford, both of Holdenville, Misty Kirkland (David) of Lamar, and stepson Danny Sanford (Shirley) of Holdenville; eleven grandchi ldren, Ski Sanford of Edmond, Levi Sanford (Trisitie) of Holdenville, Imani Dindy of New York, Dixie Sanford (Blake Harjo) of Lamar, Jayce Morris and Gina Fowler (Scott), all of Holdenville, Megan Love (Clinton) of Spaulding, Heather Presley of Chandler, Cody Sanford of Oklahoma City, Joe Sanford of Utah, and Matt Sanford of Holdenville; a host of greatgrandchildren and greatgreat- grandchildren; two brothers, Lloyd Stone (Kathy) of Loon Lake, Washington and Stanley Whitaker (Lisa) of Greeley, Colorado; nieces and nephews, other relatives, many friends, and a multitude of kids she called her own.
Funeral services were Saturday, April 15th, 11:00 am, at Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Holdenville, and Beverly was laid to rest at Non Cemetery. Pallbearers were Shawn Sanford, Willy Sanford, David Kirkland, Levi Sanford, Jeff Lucas, and Kamden Arnn. Honorary pallbearers were Lloyd Stone, Stanley Whitaker, Trevor Keefer, Jeffrey Mooney, Danny Sanford, and Blake Harjo. www.fisherfh.net
