My mom always taught me it was polite to send a thank you note to someone after they did something especially nice. You know the drill. You get out a box of “thank you cards”. You try to be specifically grateful and tell them how much you enjoyed the gift or event. Sign your name, stamp the envelope, and stick it in something old fashioned called “the mail.”
