Bailee Black, a Holdenville High School senior, along with eight other recipients was recently awarded a $1,000 scholarship presented by the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee. She plans to attend Oklahoma State University to pursue a degree in animal science.

Holdenville Band Members Earn All-State Honors

$500 Scholarship Opportunity for Hughes County Seniors

Oklahoma State Representative David Smith has teamed up with the Holdenville News and the Hughes County Tribune to provide high school seniors in Hughes County an opportunity to earn a $500 scholarship. Interested seniors are asked to submit an essay entitled, “What America Means to Me.” The essay should be two-pages long and double-spaced.

War Day #17 // On choice and paradise during war times (We’re alive and well.) This week, Hallow’s Lent reflections were focused on the second phrase Jesus uttered on the cross: “Today you will be with me in paradise.” During this time of war, I have been reflecting a lot on how my understanding of numerous Bible passages has changed and transformed. I have always been a peace-loving person and I don’t like conflicts between people.
