WATER LEAK

The Holdenville Water Department crew tackled yet another large water line leak last week. Mayor John Massad explains that the leak was in a water line on Kelkar Street that was next to another recent patch that was visible when they began the repair, and close to yet another, earlier repair. Once again, there was no shutoff valve so the crew had to make repairs on a pressured line. Making the job even more frustrating, the pump that keeps the water out of the ditch required frequent priming, with the ditch re-filling with water every time the pump died. Massad would like to begin a coordinated effort to replace water lines and add cut off valves in areas that require frequent repairs such as this location.
