HUGHES COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT (HCHD) NOW OFFERING MATERNITY CARE

Holdenville, Okla. – In an effort to increase prenatal care for women living in Hughes County, the Health Department is now offering maternity care every Wednesday, by appointment.

Hughes County is a maternity desert, which means there are no providers or hospitals that provide obstetric care in the county.

2021 data show 26 to 30 percent of women in Hughes County do not attend prenatal visits.
