I have always been a strong supporter of Homeschooling. My youngest son Tim and his wife are homeschooling their children and I am so pleased.

The advent of both Santa Claus as a Christmas symbol and eggs as an Easter icon can be traced to Christian roots and beliefs. The Easter bunny is a different animal altogether. No connection exists between this endearing children’s character and any element of the Christian faith. Yet for many children, the Easter bunny is a wonderful reminder of the coming of Easter.

The Holdenville boys’ and girls basketball teams both had successful seasons! Honors coincide with success! On the boys’ side three Wolverines earned all-conference honors! Four Wolverines earned honors on the girls’ side! Braden Mclean and Izaia King earned all-conference honors and Kase Sipes earned honorable mention for the boys. Ryleigh Hill, Madi McFarland and Myah Olden earned all-conference honors and Cylee Null earned honorable mention for the girls.

Former jailer for Hughes County, Ronee Danielle Blaylock has been charged with multiple charges, including sexual battery, after it was discovered she was having an inappropriate relationship with Hughes County Inmate, Ahmad Jacene.

Holdenville City Council will hold a meeting on March 21, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. at the Holdenville Civic Center located at 124 North Creek St., Holdenville, OK. The agenda includes 19 items that will be discussed, including promotions, purchases, agreements, and demolitions. The meeting will also include discussions on joining the Oklahoma Municipal Management Services (OMMS), an item that was voted down by the council only a few short months ago.

I had a good visit with Doyle Tampleton this past week. He and his wife Lou Jean are special friends.
