WEWOKA SCHOOL DISTRICT SETTLES SEXUAL MISCONDUCT SUIT

The Wewoka Public School District will be shelling out nearly $2 mil-lion to settle a federal civil lawsuit filed over allega-tions of sexual misconduct by its former middle school principal. The $1.95 million settle-ment, reached by the We-woka School Board last month, will be split between the four plaintiffs in the suit, all of whom are minors.

Wolverines Awarded All-State Honors A total of six Holdenville athletes have been awarded Native American All-State honors. Ryleigh Tiger and Madalynn (Madi) McFarland have been selected as Native American All-State fast pitch players and Izaia King, Cash Carter, Zeke De la Rosa and Isaiah Tiger were selected as All-Sate football players.

Elder Earl Michael Crawford was born to Deacon Jesse L. Crawford and Mother Charleszetta (Woodfork) Crawford on December 10, 1959. He joined the church and gave his life to Christ at an early age. He was raised in a family of pastor’s, preachers, evangelists, missionaries, deacons, church mothers and church builders.

As the EF-3 tornado ripped through Hughes County, the evening of April 27, 2024, it unleashed its fury on everything in its path for 34 miles. Homes were ripped from their foundations; trees were uprooted, and power lines were downed. The ferocity of the winds was such that even wellbuilt structures were no match, crumbling under the force of the storm.
