After the usual banter and light gossip about the lives of mutual friends, we asked about his life now that he had been a husband for a while.

No Nursing Home for Me

This is not original but certainly worth revisiting. No nursing home for me! I’ll be checking into a MARRIOTT! With the average cost for nursing home care being $275 per day, there is a better way when we get old and too feeble.

My baby sister, Paula Dunlap, and I have many things in common, the most notable of which is her daughter, Jessica Dunlap, and Jessica’s 11-year-old manchild, Preston. As the oldest sibling, I have always been a little bossy; as the baby of the family, her gorgeous red hair, brown eyes, kind and gentle nature and a giving heart among many other attributes, have always made her special.

Some moms resist change One of the more popular expressions knocked around by people in my age group (OLD!!) is “used to be.” That is certainly true of our mothers, past and present. This little jewel was forwarded to me by the lovely and talented Starla Dawn Smith, who is celebrating her retirement as a music/ band teacher with Harrah Schools as a preneed specialists with us at Asa Smith Funeral Service She attributes the authorship to someone (something?) called I Might Be Funny.
