Hope on a sinking ship This is a “but for” story that could have resulted in me never being born, never knowing my Dad, never writing this post… Dad was in the Army in WWII and was sent to Camp Miles Standish outside Boston in the Fall of 1942. As Christmas approached, he wanted to go home to Taylor, Pennsylvania to see his family.

Wolverines open basketball season Holdenville High School will open the 2024-2025 basketball season on Tuesday when the Wolverines play host to the Seminole Chieftains. The Wolverines are just over a week away from the end of football season and many of the boys who starred on the gridiron are expected to play a significant role on the hard wood.

At the Nov. 5, 2024 meeting the Holdenville Lions Club were called to order by Secretary Lion Jerrie Lindsey, due to previous commitments of President Lion Lori Woods and VP Lion Ernie Arocha. After the flag salute and invocation, the minutes were read and approved and the Treasurer’s report was also read and approved. Business included talking about where the eyeglasses collection boxes are currently located, and that the Post Office cannot allow a box, but the High School will.

Coach Sanford, a dedicated member of the Seminole community since his days as a student teacher, has been an integral part of the Chieftain family for over 15 years. His unwavering commitment to Seminole Public Schools and its athletic programs makes him an exemplary choice for this leadership role.
