Shoulda been a holiday I know that we have way too many holidays, no matter what the school kids say as they recuperate from Fall Break, look ahead to Thanksgiving and fully chill out with two weeks off during the Christmas holidays. But alas, there is one holiday important date in history that will NEVER become a holiday.

The guys who started on Holdenville’s State Championship Team of 1964 have always been my heroes. Maybe my mental attitude could be attributed to something similar to the Stockholm Syndrome that describes a positive attitude toward people who torture their victims!

The Holdenville Wolverines earned the district championship trophy last Friday with a thrilling 22-15 win over the Davis Wolves. The Wolverines built a 22-0 lead in the first half and then held off a Wolves’ second half rally that brought Davis within a single score of tying the game.
