City Council to Discuss Chief of Police and City Manager

Body
After many months and much work, the Holdenville City Council will finally take up the issue of chief of police tonight with an ordinance which is ready to be voted on. The ordinance would change the chief of police position from an appointed position, back to an elected position as it was for so many years dating back to the town’s beginning.

Holdenville High School Senior Night

Body
Thomas hosts Dodge Ball Tournament “A good time was had by all’ would be a good way to describe a recent fund raiser at the Holdenville High School Gymnasium when Thomas Middle School held a dodge ball tournament. There were 76 students listed on the rosters of 11 teams that participated in a fun night of competition and when it was all over a team that labeled themselves as the Cocomelons won the championship.

Wolverines Win!

Body
Wolverines Win! The Holdenville Wolverines ended the 2021 football season with a 27-0 victory over the Crooked Oak Rough Necks! The victory was a long time coming and needless to say the Wolverine faithful joined the players and coaches in a spirited post game celebration. Wolverine head coach, Thomas Walser , was awarded with a cold water cooler dosing as the players couldn’t resist an opportunity to empty a cooler full of ice water on the first year head coach.

American Legion to Host Reception for Veterans

Body
Thursday, November 14, our local American Legion Post will have a reception for all area veterans from 8:00 to 12:00 noon at the new local Legion building, 211 E. Main. For many years, Post 32 has not had a building. Thanks to local businessman Reggie Davis, they were given the building and with local donations are renovating the inside. It is not yet finished, but we are proud of all the work that has been done up to this point.

VA Partners with Holdenville General Hospital

Body
Holdenville General Hospital recently joined the Department of Veterans Affairs Community Care Network (CCN). The CCN is a network of highly qualified, credentialed community health care providers such as Holdenville General Hospital, that work with VA providers to ensure Veterans receive the health care services they need when they are unable to receive care at a VA facility. Instead of traveling to VA facilities hours away, Veterans can get the care they need right here at home.
