Good morning to you. Hope you made it through all the snow and ice. It was the coldest and most snow that I ever remember. Sure makes me appreciate the sunshine! Have you ever had blurred vision? One word sums up a one’s gradual inability to distinguish letters as they decrease in size: blurriness. There are many reasons the eyes can lose their 20/20 ranking, such a cataracts, glaucoma, dry eyes, macular degeneration, and more. Fortunately, we have eye doctors that can determine where our problem is and get us some new glasses so that we can focus on what we try to see.

The February release from the Oklahoma Tax Commission states that the February distribution of sales tax collections by the Oklahoma Tax Commission primarily represents local tax receipts from December business. Companies that remit more than $2,500 monthly in sales tax receipts are required to file and pay electronically. The monies they reported this period represent sales from December 16 to 31 and estimated sales from January 1 to the 15 .

Richard Clinton Habern, born January 12, 1954, died Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at the age of 67 years. A private family graveside service will be held at the Holdenville Cemetery in Holdenville, Oklahoma. A memorial service will be hosted at Denton Bible Church, 2300 E. University Drive, Denton, Texas on Friday, March 5 , at 2:00 p.m.

Devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Susie Mae Anderson, 88, passed peacefully into her Savior’s loving arms on Wednesday morning, February 17, 2021. She was born in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Joseph and Dovie Hartsell. Her last days were spent at home surrounded by her husband, Roy, her youngest daughter Angelia and grandchildren.

Holdenville Girls Win District The Holdenville High School girls’ basketball team won the district championship last week by defeating the Lindsay Leopards 47-36. Holdenville’s won easily but the long lay-off caused by the icy weather and the huge gaps in scheduling due to the pandemic was apparent in the Wolverines level of play.
Holdenville senior, Leigha Phillips, has been awarded All Conference honors! The 66 Conference coaches made the selection.
